Do you have a lower-body disability or impairment? Or have you ever wanted to try the sport of para ice hockey? Then it’s time to get in touch!
We are always on the lookout for new people who want to take part in our fast paced, physical, highly skilled team sport, and as part of the Sheffield Steelkings ongoing development plan, where possible, we open our Friday night training session for those looking to start playing para ice hockey.

Where possible we will also provide ‘Learn To Sledge’ and ‘Future Kings’ events for when we have larger groups of people wanting to try the sport and at a more relaxed pace. Keep an eye on our social media channels for future upcoming events.
We will provide all the necessary equipment including protective equipment, sticks and a sledge! And for those who are feeling particularly brave, we also have some goalie equipment too*
All we ask is that you are able to self transfer down to one of our sledges and back, wear clothes you don’t mind getting hot and sweaty in, and bring a water bottle with you!
If you enjoyed the session and want to continue with the sport, we can talk to you about the process of joining the club and completing your registration.
At the Sheffield Steelkings, we pride ourselves on training everyone to the best of their ability once part of the club. Those with a classifiable disability or impairment may also have the opportunity to represent Great Britain with our national programmes at World Championships or Olympic Qualifier in the future too!
So if this is something that appeals to you, join the Kings of this sport and rule the ice with us!
For more information on getting involved, email us today at: sheffieldsteelkings@gmail.com

*Sizes may vary but we will try to provide the best fitting equipment possible.
Goalie equipment is only available upon advanced request.
