Both the Sheffield Steelkings teams play in highly competitive British Para Ice Hockey League!

The British Para Ice Hockey Association (BPIHA) is the sports National Governing Body (NGB) within Great Britain. They manage the sport, run the National League as well as running the Great Britain National Programmes.

They work closely with both the British Paralympic Association (BPA) and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) who are the sports global governing body.
Since its debut at the Lillehammer 1994 Winter Games, the Paralympic version of ice hockey has quickly become one of the largest attractions for spectators. It is fast-paced, highly physical and played by male and female athletes.
At league level in the UK, the sport is played by both disabled and able-bodied players. At an International Paralympic level, it is played by players with a classifiable physical impairment in the lower part of the body.
The BPIHL follows the rules of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) and World Para Ice Hockey.

In July 2022, the British Para Ice Hockey Association, and the English Ice Hockey Association, entered into a joint agreement to bring the sport of Para Ice Hockey under the EIHA as the newly formed EIHA Para Ice Hockey Section.
The hope is in time we will be able to introduce more para ice hockey teams, increase playing numbers and make the British game one of the best in the world!
